How to convert TB to GB
GB = TB × 1,000. The scale factor is the source-unit factor divided by the destination-unit factor.
Worked example
For a file size or storage capacity of 500 TB converts to 500,000 GB.
- Start with 500 TB.
- Multiply 500 by 1,000.
- Report 500,000 GB, rounded to the precision of your original measurement.

Definitions that matter
A byte is eight bits. MB is not MiB, and GB is not GiB. Storage capacities are quantities; data-transfer rates such as Mbps add a time dimension and are not included here.
