How to convert K to °F
°F = K × 1.8 − 459.67. The offset accounts for the different zero points of these temperature scales.
Worked example
For a temperature reading of 273.15 K converts to 32 °F.
- Start with 273.15 K.
- Apply °F = K × 1.8 − 459.67.
- Report 32 °F, rounded to the precision of your original measurement.
Check the reverse conversion

Definitions that matter
These formulas convert temperature readings. For a temperature change, use the scale factor without adding a zero-point offset. Readings below absolute zero are rejected.
