How to convert kB to GB
GB = kB × 0.000001. The scale factor is the source-unit factor divided by the destination-unit factor.

For a file size or storage capacity of 500 kB converts to 0.0005 GB.

- Multiply 500 by 0.000001.
- Report 0.0005 GB, rounded to the precision of your original measurement.
Check the reverse conversion

Definitions that matter
A byte is eight bits. MB is not MiB, and GB is not GiB. Storage capacities are quantities; data-transfer rates such as Mbps add a time dimension and are not included here.
